Isle of Wight Vintage Motorcycle Club cheque for prostate cancer

A cheque for £1,000 has been presented to the IW group for Prostate Cancer Support by the IW section of the Vintage Motorcycle Club.

The group nominates a local charity as its good cause for the year, and money is collected at various events, mainly the bike shows at Ventnor Winter Gardens and St Thomas’s Square in Newport.

It became the duty of Ron Wallis, as club secretary, at the November AGM, to present a cheque for £1,000 to Brian Dennis, representing the charity.

It was Ron’s last official act as secretary, as he stated his intention to retire from the position on that date.

He was somewhat surprised when the tables were then turned, in recognition of, and with many thanks for his years as secretary, and service to the club, chair Geoff Dean presented Ron with a momento of the event, with hopes that he will enjoy many more years of riding with the VMCC, and even find time to restore a few items in his rust collections to a roadworthy condition.
