An Isle of Wight man, who denies hurling abuse at a Wetherspoon's worker while armed with a metal bar, will return to court next month.
Kevin Leonard, of Corbett Road, Ryde, pleaded not guilty to possession of an offence weapon in a public place at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 10.
It is alleged that on August 17, the 54-year-old believed he left his phone inside Ryde's S. Fowler and Co Wetherspoon at closing time, and after being told by staff it was not there, allegedly retrieved a metal bar from his Audi A3 before returning to verbally abuse the staff member.
Mr Leonard will appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing.
He also faces a charge of drink driving, on the same night.
He will appear before the court on November 13.
