CHINASHOP Rare Breeds has celebrated victory at the recent Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition.
Farmers Michaela and Paul Heathcote scooped two golds and one silver award at the competition, held at Sparsholt College, Winchester.
More than 200 entrants took part — but near perfect scores of 96 out of 100 in the hot eating pie and ready meal category and 93 out of 100 in the sausage category, earned the Afton farmers the top accolades.
Michaela said: "The judges in this competition are the most respected in the country and it is a great honour to be recognised in these awards.
"Out of all the entrants we were one of the few who made their products from their own meats, in this case pork from our Berkshire pigs and beef from our Red Poll cattle herd.
"Both are among Britain’s rarest native breeds."
