BAD weather has forced the cancellation of both historic Twenty20 cricket matches at Newclose Cricket Ground today (Monday).
Hampshire's first team squad were on the IW for the first time in 1962, to play the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) Masters across two games, but persistent rain forced ground staff to postpone the first match just before it was about to start.
Although an official decision will not be made until around 2pm, Hampshire Cricket Club has announced on its twitter feed that there will be no play today, meaning the second game, scheduled to start at 3.20pm, will also not go ahead.
