Max Williams performing at the Quay’s Acoustic Night. Picture by Robin Crossley.
MUSIC THE Island and a little of that talent took to the Quay Arts stage on Monday for Acoustic Originals.A night of original music in a convivial setting — and free too. There’s little better than that. The night kicked off with 19-year-old Max William, followed by Louise Jordan, who made the trip from Hampshire to play some of her acoustic folk-based material.Doug Alldred teamed with ace guitarist Sean Goodfield and vocalist Tracy Parker with whom he had not sung since 1998, he said.Musical poet Paul Armfield is soon to have his song Flagbearers included on the next Folk Against Fascism compilation. He was able to silence the talkers at the bar in mellow style. The night finished with The Scores, a four-piece formed around the musical partnership of Bob Craig and Robert Carr. The next Acoustic Originals is on May 21.Reporter: richardw@iwcpmail.co.uk
