MUSIC RYDE’S new Folk and Blues Club will play it again near the end of April after a successful first night.More than 60 people attended the opening night on Sunday, where the resident Nick Cane Band entertained and where local musicians were given the chance through open mic.The club, at Ryde’s Wight Rock Bar, was the brainchild of musician Pete D’Arby, who is also known to perform.Pete said: “I wanted to make space for people to play because the local music scene can be something of a closed shop.“For the next night we have reduced admission to £4 and £3 for students and those without a job and £1 for open mic.“Next to play is the Andy Charles Blues Band on April 29.”Reporter: richardw@iwcpmail.co.uk
