ACCORDING to Harlow councillor John Young, the inspector from the Audit Commission found our council meetings boring and useless, for which he blamed the opposition parties.
He said we were pedantic and time wasting. Well, the answer is, if we don't have anything else to talk about, what are we supposed to do?
Any and all opposition proposals are automatically voted down, but there is nothing coming from the Labour Party.
Labour is supposed to be leading the council, but where is the leadership? Where are the policies and strategies we are supposed to be debating in the council chamber?
The blame for boring council meetings lies with Councillor Young's Labour Party, which is failing to provide leadership. Is it because it has run out of ideas and recognises its time has come?
