LETTERS From Patricia Horne, Bembridge:Bembridge — largest IW village but still waiting for a car parkI read in the County Press (CP, 30-03-12) that Staddlestone’s Garage is to relocate back to Ryde, thus providing an opportunity for us to have the desperately needed village car park. However, already it appears McCarthy Stone have expressed an interest in the site, for a care home. Bembridge is already awash with facilities for older residents. Over the last several decades, when land was available, opportunities for a car park were lost. Does Bembridge really want to lose this latest window of opportunity? I urge Bembridge, with forceful backing from our own parish council, not to let this chance slip through our fingers.
