FOOTBALLEAST Cowes Vics sensationally knocked out Brading Town on Wednesday to reach the final of the IW Senior (Gold) Cup.

They came from behind to win 2-1 at St George’s Park, Simon Williams’s speculative injury-time shot earning victory.

Jordan Browne had put Brading ahead in the 15th minute but Vics levelled in the second half through Matt Evans before the Williams winner.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the Sydenhams Wessex League begins to wind down.

Brading Town host Lymington Town in the Premier Division as they try to escape the threat of relegation, with a full squad, aside from the suspended Nathan Lewis.

The club has strengthened the back-room staff for the tail end of the season with Richie Woodburn joining from Cowes Sports as a coach and Kevin Wetherick from Newport Reserves, as assistant manager. Both are former Romans players.
