GREENWICH Borough Mariner Kirsty Stoneham has smashed a world swimming record. Stoneham, who is no stranger to international competition, bettered the 50m backstroke (B2) benchmark at the National Open Swimming Championships for the Visually Impaired.
She also claimed silver medals in the 100m backstroke and 50, 100 and 400m freestyle. Stoneham is currently training seven times per week for the World Championships in Madrid this summer.
