Borehamwood Lionhearts slayed the Demon Vampires 13-1, thanks to a goal bonanza in the first half.

Eight goals were netted to give the Lionhearts an 8-1 lead at half time.

As the game wore on, the opposition got more and more into the game but the Lionhearts held off their challenge with three late goals.

Scorers were Jaydean George (4), Robert Lathwell (4), Theo Jones (3), Harry Hammon and Tom Dickinson.

Earlier, the Lionhearts came up against the Cambridge Stormers, who lived up to their name by cruising to a 4-0 lead in the opening five minutes.

The only other score in the first half was a disputed effort which increased the Stormers advantage.

After the break, it was a different story as the Lionhearts dominated.

Goals from Lathwell (2) and Hammon reduced the arrears but the Stormers held on for a 6-3 success.

The Pee-Wee team were involved in a bruising encounter against the Demon Werewolves.

Holding a 2-1 lead at the break with goals from by Curtis Esty and Steve Dickinson, they looked to be in control.

Two further strikes by Dickinson put his side in a commanding position.

However, a strike 90 seconds from the end tied the game up at 4-4.

The junior team were also held 4-4 in a fast and furious encounter with the Demon Slayers.

Both sides had chances galore to score but were denied by possibly the best two junior keepers in the league.

A blistering effort from Ben Treacy broke the deadlock and further goals from Matt Sewell and Steve Dickinson made it 3-1.

The Slayers clawed their way back into the game and, despite a goal from Dave Samuel, the Crusaders had to be content with a draw.

Some of the best hockey of the season so far was played by the Seniors as they secured an easy 10-4 win over the Hawks in a physical battle -- but the match ended in controversial fashion.

The Hawks' discipline fell apart during the latter stages of the game and, after many confrontations with the referee, the contest was abandoned with less than two minutes on the clock.

The Seniors raced to a 4-1 advantage at half time but within 17 seconds of the re-start, the Crusaders scored a breathtaking goal which involved the whole team.

Darren Smith was on fire and hit six goals. He was ably assisted by Robbie Sewell (2) and Neil McMahon (2).
