ICE HOCKEYUnder-12s Junior Raiders 11, Chelmsford 4
RAIDERS romped to victory in their final game of the season at Ryde Arena.
They took a quick lead, scoring twice in the first two minutes with goals from Kieran Tavener and Tyler Moore.
A short-benched Chelmsford side were struggling to cope with the wave of Raiders attacks, and the Islanders went on to score seven more first-period goals.
Two from Keelan Walsh, another from Tavener, and strikes from Lewis Ross and Oliver McLoughlin put the Raiders well ahead.
Walsh added an eighth goal a minute into the second period to complete his hat-trick but Chelmsford didn’t give up and hit back with two goals themselves in 20 seconds to make 8-2.
Spirit of the game Ross, and Kodi Coles, cancelled those efforts out and although Chelmsford added another two to their tally, McLoughlin ensured Raiders had the last laugh.
Man of the match was Cameron Wright.
