16.29 - FOOTBALL: IW Ladies have equalised against the tournament favourites, Aland, headed in during a scramble.
16.28 - CYCLING: In the men's mountain bike criterion, Sean Williams is tenth, Tim Wiggins is 19th and Richard Evans, James Hunt and Ben Johnson are 26th, 27th and 28th respectively.
15.59: SHOOTING: Stephen Donson and Ken Shynn come sixth in the final of the Universal Trench team event.
15.54: FOOTBALL - The IW ladies are holding Aland 1-0 at half time, a good result so far and keeps them in touching distance. They must get some kind of result here to have any chance of progressing.
15:32 SHOOTING - Gold medal for the men's sporting team, they beat the Isle of Man by one clay. The women's sporting team; Andrea George, Michelle Knowles and Karen Sowerby have also won a gold medal.
15.14: TABLE TENNIS - IW lose their last match 7-0 to Guernsey, missing out on a semi-final place by one point. They now go into a playoff for overall placing.
15.06 FOOTBALL - IW Ladies 1-0 down after three minures against Aland.
15.05: ARCHERY - At half-way point of the first day of the competition, Kevin Hougthon is second in the men's compound and Steve Bollen is second in the men's recurve.
14.38: SHOOTING: GOLD for Richard Wilson and Paul Cotton in the men's 50m prone rifle team event at Downend. The duo, who shot together at the first Island Games in 1985, score 1161, the same as the Isle of Man, but the IW take the medal.
14.37: CYCLING; IW ladies mountain bikers Katherine Chillistone, Karen Murphy and Amanda Van Santen come ninth, tenth, and 11th respectively in the mountain bike criterion at Shorwell.
13.38: ATHLETICS: We had a few heats at the Fairway Sports Centre this morning. It would appear Jaryd Robinson has qualified for the final of the men's 200m, while it appears Samuel Ratcliffe has just missed out. In the men's 800m semi-finals, Joe Wade stormed to a time of 1.55.29, fastest overall, to qualify, while Harrison Curling came seventh in the second semi-final. James Forman made the final of the men's 400m hurdles with the second fastest time.
13.33: SHOOTING: We are hearing rumours of a gold medal in the sporting team shooting event at Sainham, with Dan Bishop, Mark Downer and Lee Pitman winning the title by a single clay. This is TO BE CONFIRMED.
13.33: SHOOTING: Pauline Deadman and Heather Rutherford come fourth in the 10m air rifle team event at Haseley Manor.
13.32: SWIMMING: Joining Darren Mew in the finals of the swimming tonight are Mark Alchin and Matt Barber in the 1,500m freestyle, Paige Critchley in the 50m breaststroke, and the IW teams in the ladies' 4x50m freestyle relay and men's 4x50m medley relay.
13.26: SQUASH - That of course means the IW are guaranteed at least silver!
13.23: SQUASH - The IW has reached the final of the team tournament. They defeated the Cayman Islands in the semi-final and will play the only team to defeat them in the group stages, Jersey, in tonight's final at 5pm.
13.21: TABLE TENNIS - We've just had word from team member Lee Orton that the IW team has won its fourth match in the team event 7-0 against Rhodes. Another brilliant result and the IW are putting their stamp on the competition.
13.18: We've just returned from the archery and shooting ranges, where there's plenty of action going on. Here's what's been going on since Mew's impressive qualification in the swimming....
11:39 SWIMMING - The IW's Darren Mew qualifies for the 100m breaststroke final in the fastest time of 1.03.25.
11:38 BADMINTON - IW beat Menorca 5-0 in the team event. (The best the IW team can come in the team event is fifth).
11:12 SAILING - After pulling out of the first Laser Radials race, IW sailor James McMillan has rejoined the action for race two.
10.55: SAILING - It's a fair day at Yaverland Sailing Club with winds at 14knots. Racing is underway in the Laser Radials but there has already been drama, with James McMillan's IW boat having to retire. More details as we get them. Windsurfing is also underway.
10.14: A couple of nuggets of news from yesterday.Owing to a change in the timetable we didn't realise the IW team in the men's basketball played their first match, defeating Isle of Man 70-54. And at Ryde School the IW table tennis team suffered their first defeat of the team event, going 5-2 down against Jersey.
10.10: Good morning and welcome to today's coverage of the NatWest Island Games. We're poolside at Medina Leisure Centre as the swimming gala gets underway today. Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew opened proceedings, parading his medal and the Olympic torch from the Beijing games.
