LETTERS

From Bob Blocksidge, Unite delegate, IW Trades’ Union Council, Freshwater:
I TOOK a stroll through Freshwater with a few posters advertising the public meeting at  St George’s Park, Newport, on Wednesday, January 3, at 7pm.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the reduced sailings by Wightlink in the new year.

I decided to call in to the shops, cafes, garages, etc I  passed on my stroll. I asked them if they would care to display the poster.

After reading the poster and a healthy discussion on the subject of the meeting, they agreed to display it.
More than 30 establishments decided to display the poster, and showed varying degrees of disquiet at the attitude of Wightlink.

This exercise has made me think other establishments on the Island might like to display the poster. They can contact me via e-mail, on blocksidge19@aol.com. I could then send them the poster as an attachment.
