The LTA Ratings tournament at Totteridge Tennis club saw two of the host club's players, ladies' champion Tilly Callow and coach Bruce Tarran successful.

Callow scored a 6-2, 6-1, victory over another local player Natalie Neri in the ladies' singles, and Tarran beat Imtiaz Khan 6-2, 6-1, in the over-35's singles.

The best contest of the day was reserved for the men's final which saw world-ranked Swede Christian Wall beat Hampshire's David Gaterell in a tight three-setter, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Temple Fortune Tennis Club is starting a drive to recruit new members with a series of open days.

Each Sunday in May the club in Bridge Lane is inviting non-members to come and try their tennis, bowls, squash, pool and table tennis facilities between 11am-1pm.

Coaches and club members will be available to answer any questions, and anyone who joins the club on the day will be given a 20 per cent discount on club membership.
