TOUGH measures aimed at cleaning up Hillingdon's streets are set to be implemented.
The Capital Standard Campaign, launched by the Greater London Authority on Tuesday this week, is a four-year street cleaning scheme.
The programme involves a number of initiatives, such as on-the-spot inspections and more training for local authority officers on how to use the law against vandals and litter-droppers.
Fast food operators will also be asked to fund an education and information campaign aimed at reducing litter.
Hillingdon is one of 23 London boroughs to have signed up so far.
Mayor Ken Livingstone said: "Seven out of 10 people rate litter as a problem in their area. This campaign is a sustained effort to tackle the problem and will mean cleaner streets for London."
