ISLANDERS will get a real scoop preview this Sunday of the new Mazda CX-5 compact crossover SUV.
For although the car is not due to be launched in Britain until mid May, Mazda has allowed one of only two CX-5s in the country to come to the Island this weekend for the March Motor Show.
Show visitors will be see the new CX-5 on display at the show, at Medina Leisure Centre, from 10am to 4pm Sunday.
"After 34 years of selling Mazdas, I am really chuffed to bits my customers will be some of the first people in the country to get a look at this fantastic new car," said Graham Vanassche, managing director of Northwood Garage, the Island’s Mazda dealer.
The Mazda CX-5 will be the first car from Mazda with innovative SKYACTIV technology and will come with a choice of two engines — 2.0-litre petrol or 2.2-litre diesel — and with two or four-wheel drive. Fuel consumption figures look promising, between 47mpg and 61.4mpg (combined cycle), depending on model, with CO2 emissions between 119 and 144 g/km.
