A Borehamwood woman will be running the Flora London Marathon for the benefit of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

Rachel Booth, 38, of Studio Way is part of Team Flora, a 600-strong group of runners -- all running to help charities favoured by the late Princess.

The Kiwi nanny/housekeeper said she had the honour of meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales on their 1981 tour of New Zealand, and now she was spending most of her spare time in training for her first London Marathon.

"The thing I remember most about Diana was her relaxed attitude, and just being herself without any obvious heirs and graces. She came across as extremely natural in her role, constantly smiling," said Miss Booth.

Team Flora members are receiving support and advice on all aspects of training, nutrition and fund-raising.

Miss Booth said the team is captained by Chris Moon, who worked with Diana on a number of anti-landmine campaigns.

"Chris was blown up in Mozambique in 1995 during a landmine clearance operation. He lost his lower right arm and leg in the blast but has since run 15 marathons and The Great Sahara Run, a 140km race across the Sahara Desert."
