MUSICRYDE’S newly formed Jazz and Blues Club is staging a charity extravaganza on Sunday, June 17, to raise funds to build schools in Africa.
The event is being staged at the Wight Rock Bar in Lind Street and will feature music from the Nick Cane Band, Any Road, the Andy Charles Blues Band, harpist Merlynna and many more.
There is also a free open mic at the event.
Pete Darby, from the club, said: "We have been going for two months now and we have had good support from musicians and audience.
"The ethos behind the club is non-profit making and the essence is to support musicians and keep music live.
"The Island has many good musicians who can’t get a slot to play live."
The charity fundraising event begins at 6pm and lasts until 11pm. The club usually stages an open mic event on the last Sunday of the month.
All proceeds from the charity event will go towards African schools.
