A team of athletes from Hillside School finished only five points adrift of the winners in a County League meet.

Four events were won by the school in the five-team competition.

Dene Lewis claimed the 200m race was claimed in a personal best time of 24.1secs.

And a leap of 11.83m sealed the triple jump event and a double of wins for Lewis.

Michael Phillips broke the Year 9 boys record in the 800m, winning his race in 2min 15.3secs. The final victory for Hillside came in the pole vault when David Esposito cleared a career best 2.40m.

Other top three positions were achieved by Ricky Goodman (high jump), Adam Mitchinson (400m), Jamie Lever (1500m), Vicky Cooke (shot putt) and the 4x100m relay team of Lever, Phillips, Gary Fitzsimmons and Lewis.
