WEBSITE MSN Travel has named the Isle of Wight as one of the best places to see spring in Britain.
The website highlighted the Needles and Tennyson Down, alongside the likes of Winchcombe in the Cotswolds, Ullswater in Cumbria and the Vale of Evesham in Worcestershire.
Travel writer Annabelle Thorpe said: "The Isle of Wight has become the walking capital of the UK in the last few years, holding the largest walking festival in the country every May."

Yes, with potholes among the worst in Britain and gridlock around Newport, and the floating bridge shut, walking is the only way to see the Island. Except, don't try the coastal paths - they haven't got around to fixing some of them yet. Oh, and try not to need the loo, the council closed them all.

Lol, not forgetting the price of taxis, buses and fuel Mike! I quite often choose to walk rather than drive, it's good for you, free and you don't need any special equipment :)

"""The Isle of Wight has become the walking capital of the UK in the last few years"""With road works, diversions and road closures, it's quicker to walk. And if you want to come to the Island at night, you need to walk on water ..
