A WOMAN has been remanded in custody today (Friday), following Wednesday’s acid attack in Sandown, in which a 22 year old was left with life-changing facial injuries.

Sau Lin-Hin, 48, of Mulberry Way, Ryde, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates this morning, charged with one count of maliciously and unlawfully causing grievous bodily harm.

Mrs Lin-Hin, who was assisted by a Cantonese speaking interpreter, did not enter a plea.

She was remanded in custody until June 30.

The female victim has been receiving treatment at a specialist burns unit on the mainland.
