THE Isle of Wight’s Garlic Farm has struck gold for the eighth year in a row at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Flower Show.

Its garden, Allium Alfresco, was also named the best Growing For Taste exhibit in the massive marquee.

The award-winning garden is a modern interpretation of the popular pastime that is outdoor living, cooking and eating, designed with the allium family at its very core.

Paul Barney, from Edulis, designed this year’s entry after putting together last year’s gold medal winning Garlic Lover’s Garden.

Garlic Farm owner Colin Boswell said: "We put a great deal of love, attention and time into creating our award-winning gardens.

"Hampton Court has always been a fantastic way for us to demonstrate why we are renowned for our quality, British, garlic.

"It also gives us the perfect opportunity to meet budding gardeners and teach them a little about growing garlic at home."

One of the MUST SEE places whenever we are on the island and the garlic has been harvested. Great to see at least one success story in these challenging times. Well done! See you soon.
