BAD weather has affected cross-Solent travel this morning (Wednesday).

Hovertravel suspended all crossings due to the poor conditions during the morning.

Wightlink's Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry service is now running to its normal timetable, it was suspended earlier today due to the adverse weather.

Wightlink says its Fishbourne to Portsmouth car ferry crossings and Ryde to Portsmouth FastCats are running as normal.

There were no reported travel delays on Red Funnel services.

Force 8, or 35 knot, winds were recorded at the Needles Old Battery Weather station according to the National Trust.

*Hovertravel services had returned to normal at 12:33pm.
