THERE was a patriotic theme to the annual end of term ball at for sixth form students at Sandown Bay Academy last Friday.
The Best of British ball, attended by 110 students and teachers, was held at Landguard Manor, Shanklin, which was decorated with red white and blue bunting.
Students also got the chance to munch through specially created red white and blue cakes, as well as donning their posh frocks and best suits.
Students, Chris Foss and Lottie Vale were named King and Queen of the ball respectively. There were also some fun awards with the 'biggest flirt’ prize handed-out to school captain, Dan Bell.
The head of sixth form, teacher Gary Clarke, was also given a spoof Wikipedia award for the most unreliable information.
Event organiser Charlea Williams, said: "I think everyone had a nice time and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a nice send-off for the upper sixth."
