The programme has been postponed a week due to unforeseen editing complications.
BRILLIANT efforts by Isle of Wight charities and other individuals and organisations in making a difference to people’s lives will feature in a new documentary due to be screened on television this weekend.
Newport-based Independent Arts, the Footprint Trust and Isle of Wight Adventure Activities will feature in the programme Brilliant Britain, due to be screened on the Community Channel (Sky 539, Virgin Media 233 and Freeview 87) at 8pm on Sunday, September 29.
The programme focuses on a number of projects that received a grant from The Big Lottery Fund and which have made a difference to people’s lives.
Film makers visited the Island earlier this month and spent an afternoon at Independent Arts’ SingAbout singing therapy group, interviewing staff and filming participants in action.
Independent Arts project manager Caroline Ash said: "We’re really pleased to have the opportunity to feature in the programme and to demonstrate how brilliant our participants and volunteers are. We know how popular and valued SingAbout is to those who attend and it is really exciting to share that with a wider audience."
Other Island organisations due to feature in the programme include The Garlic Farm, Newchurch, Scarrots Lane Bakery, Newport, and reggae singer Derek Sandy.
