This weekend, Wood continue their build up with what has become a traditional pre-season trip to Norfolk, following excursions in recent years to the likes of Wroxham and Diss.

On Saturday, they travel to The Walks to meet King's Lynn (kick-off 3pm).

The Linnets will provide a stern test for Makin's men, as they look to improve on last term's eighth place in the Dr Marten's League Premier Division, when they lost only three times at home.

Lynn player-manager, Tony Spearing, has recently strengthened his squad with the addition of his former Norwich City team mate, Dale Gordon, who once cost Glasgow Rangers £1m, and also wore the colours of West Ham, and they will be hoping for a successful link-up with ex-Watford winger Worrell Sterling, who played a part in Watford's glory days of the early 80s.

King's Lynn preparations have not gone smoothly however, and a recent draw with Great Yarmouth was followed by a 4-0 caning by neighbours Wisbech.

On Wednesday evening of next week, Wood make the much shorter trip out out east, as they meet old adversaries Harlow Town (7.30pm kick-off).

Any Wood fans making the journey need not ask directions to the ground -- just look for the ski slope!
