Choir hits the right note with radio station

Medina Community Choir, who have been featured on a new CD.

A QUEEN'S Diamond Jubilee CD featuring tracks by the Medina Community Choir has received national recognition.

Classic FM has chosen the album, Diamond Jubilee, recorded by the choir with the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Portsmouth, as its CD of the week.

The Isle of Wight choir recorded two tracks for the album — a special arrangement of the national anthem and Land of Hope and Glory.

Classic FM presenter, John Suchet, described the CD as a rousing musical tribute to the Queen.

Musical director, Hannah Brear, who will carry the Olympic torch on the Island on June 14, said she was very proud.

Hannah said: "The quality of the CD is superb and it is a musical symbol of all that makes Britain so great."

The CD is available to buy or download from Amazon.

The choir will perform tracks from the album on Alan Titchmarsh's Classic FM show on Saturday.

Copies of this CD will also be on sale at the choir's grand summer concert at Medina Theatre on July 12.
