ALMOST 200 Isle of Wight properties were left without water for hours yesterday due to a burst main.
Southern Water apologised after properties in the Swanmore Road area lost their water supply due to a burst pipe, which also led to a loss of pressure in other areas.
A spokeswoman for the company said they had received about 180 calls from customers to report they had lost their water supply, starting at 8.40am.
All homes had their supply restored by 7.30pm according to the company.
"This was a complex repair, hence the length of time it took, and we apologise for any inconvenience," said the spokeswoman.
