A BECKENHAM firefighter was injured in a blaze which ripped through a house in Manor Way.

A member of the public alerted the brigade to a fire in a derelict house at 6.10pm on February 19.

Four fire engines from Beckenham and Bromley fire stations rushed to the scene, with about 25 fire fighters.

They brought the fire under control but could not save the roof and first floor which were severely damaged. One firefighter was taken to hospital suffering from minor burns.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
