DETECTIVES on the Isle of Wight, investigating a burglary which took place during the Christmas period, have released pictures of items stolen from a Ventnor home.

The home in Leeson Road was broken into between Wednesday, December 12 and Thursday, December 20.

Police said a considerable number of belongings, including jewellery, two telescopes and camera equipment, were stolen.

DC Katy Lee said: "As you can see from the photographs below, many of the items are very distinctive and the majority of the jewellery is of African origin.

"We also believe whoever is responsible for the thefts took a bright pink satchel bag and a Graco travel cot bag to carry the stolen property away in."

Anyone with information can contact DC Katy Lee at Newport Police Station by phoning 101.
