PAULA CRAIG claimed victory in her first wheelchair half-marathon at Reading on Sunday, coming home in a time of 1:35.00.
After being injured in a car accident and left wheelchair bound only nine-months ago, Paula has undergone an extensive training regime in an effort to complete next month's London Marathon.
Despite suffering a puncture on a difficult coures, Paula was a convincing winner with victory evidence of the hard work the Tri-Force athlete has had to put in since the accident.
Elsewhere, a number of other Tri-Force Herts athletes were using the half-marathon as a warm-up to the coming season and, among 8,000 other runners, club captain Vince Ellerby was the first member home in a time of 1:20.23.
Hot on his heels was Jenny Gray, former world veteran bronze medallist at 1500m and 5000m, with a time of 1:22.02.
