East End to Isle of Wight

Scott Maslen enjoys female attention at Yates’s.

BUSINESS ISLE of Wight pub Yates’s has reopened after a £190,000 refurbishment.

The Newport High Street pub had been closed for ten days.

DJ Michael Andre, brother to Peter, performed on the opening night to a packed crowd.

The pub is the first of the 71 Yates’s pubs in the UK to have a giant LED video wall as a backdrop to the dancefloor.

General manager Ronan McCann said feedback had been good.

The biggest draw for the opening weekend came when EastEnders heart-throb, Scott Maslen (aka Jack Branning) joined customers as celebrity guest.

Meanwhile, the pub has launched Yates’s Inn The Community to support local projects and charities through fundraising at the pub.
