AN administrator at Sawbridgeworth's Rivers Hospital will climb Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis,to raise money for a health charity.

Rosemary Trend, 48, from Bishop's Stortford, who has raised more than £500 for the Neurofibromatosis Association, will be joined on the climb by son in law Paul Savage of St Michael's Mead and friend Joy Grimes of Stansted.

Mrs Trend said: "I am looking forward to the challenge and the reward it brings, the best of which is the chance to assist this charity."

The climb will begin early on Saturday morning and is expected to take about five hours, and to celebrate the volunteers' efforts a special party will be thrown that night.

Mrs Trend has taken part in fundraising for other charities including the British Heart Foundation but said: "This is a little bit different from what I've done before. I'm a bit apprehensive but looking forward to it."

The association supports patients with the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis which causes non-malignant tumours to form on nerves in the body.

The event is being organised by the charity through UK outdoor pursuits.
