Firefighters called to East Cowes blaze

THREE unoccupied houses were badly damaged by fire in East Cowes last night (Saturday).

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service said three terraced houses in Church Path, all new builds, were well alight when they were called to the scene.

Two hose reels, two mains jets and an aerial ladder were used to tackle the blaze, following a call at around 5.20pm.

*The fire was out by 6.45pm.

The cause is still unknown.
