GRITTING is due to take place on Isle of Wight roads tonight (Friday), the council has warned.

liquid snow falling at the moment. probably the wrong type of snow that needs grit. hope the council have enough grit when we get real snow!!!

Why would they put grit on the roads when there is no snow on the ground? In Canada we only put grit or salt when we have snow on the ground.

"The council advised motorists to drive carefully" As opposed to how we normally drive?What are they trying to say here?I did not see any frost or ice last night, so grit wasted in my opinion.
