EXTREME scooter team Grit hit the Isle of Wight’s new skatepark The Drop over the Bank Holiday for a daredevil demonstration of their skills.

The team, which features the talents of several Isle of Wight riders, attracted a crowd of fans to the Newport park, keen to pick up some tips.

The Drop owner and founder Glen Walker said: "The Grit team visit turned out to be a great day for The Drop and all our members.

"Island children were given the chance to ride with the team, including the world number two scooter rider Ryan McNamara, as well as witness some awesome tricks from Kieran O’Reilly, Sam Dickinson, Ollie Bennett and Blake Nash, four Island-based riders.

"A great day was had by all, with the pros imparting advice, answering questions and handing out signed helmets, decks and T-shirts to those who really impressed them.

"All in all it set the tone for our next event, which takes place on September 29, a huge competition for anyone who thinks they’re good enough."
