FREE support to help people overcome the negative effects of living with a mental health condition is coming to Ryde for the first time.
Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company (EPP CIC) is offering the New Beginnings course aimed specifically at people living with, or in recovery from, mental health conditions.
New Beginnings is a free course for those whose life has been affected by a mental health condition and looks at a number of areas including problem solving and goal setting, confidence building, anxiety and depression management, trigger and relapse symptom awareness, positive thinking, relaxation techniques, lifestyle, communication skills and planning for the future.
The course will be starting at the end of this month at Tower House Surgery in Rink Road, Ryde.
The programme is open to anyone who feels they could benefit from self-management skills to aid recovery from a mental health condition.
Contract manager for the Island EPP CIC, Rachel Hatcher, said: "The New Beginnings course is delivered in a structured group approach, which aids individual growth and allows guided open discussion, peer support and helps participants learn how to deal effectively with the challenges they may face in the course of their daily lives."
