THE Isle of Wight's HMV store is not among almost 70 set to close in the next two months.
Administrators of the troubled entertainment company, which went into administration last month, announced today (Thursday) that 66 stores would be closed in the coming weeks.
The Isle of Wight store was not among those listed however.

theres a name from the past mike, do you remember liptons in birmingham road cowes, whatever happened to these high street shops, they were big companies as well

Would of been interesting to see what would of been done with the building. Was it originally a Somerfield or was there something before that. Also anyone remember how long it was empty for before HMV took it over. I mean thats lot of floor space .. would of made a the biggest Oxfam i'd ever of seen.

Makes sense, being one of the few media retailers left on the Island!
