A HOUSE was severely damaged by fire in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
No-one was injured in the blaze, which took hold at the property, in Central Way, Sandown, shortly after 3am.
Around 75 per cent of the roof, 80 per cent of the first floor and 30 per cent of the ground floor was gutted by the fire, according to the IW Fire and Rescue Service, who were alerted when the homeowner dialled 999.
The property also suffered significant smoke damage.
There was a second source of the fire in the property's ground floor extension.
Fire crews are investigating the cause of the blaze were at the scene until 5.35am.
