Investigation into car fire

POLICE on the Isle of Wight are investigating a car fire in Ryde town centre during the early hours of this morning (Friday).

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend the small vehicle fire outside Iceland supermarket in the High Street at 1am.

No one was reported injured and the police are investigating possible suspicious circumstances connected with the fire, said an Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.

The incident ended at 1.29am.
