THE Hartwell dealership at Newport is to close at the end of the month, with the loss of nine jobs. The dealership, in Carisbrooke Road, is the smallest in the Hartwell group, which is restructuring.The company is working with IW recruitment agencies to help staff, some of whom have worked there for more than 25 years, find alternative employment.Branch manager Phillip Laitt said: “As a business and from the team I work with, we would like to thank all of our customers for their loyal support. “A lot of those customers have become friends and we are very sad we will not be here to help and assist them in the future.”It has been a Hartwell dealership for 15 years but a garage or petrol station has operated from the site for more than 50 years.The dealership will close on May 31.Reporter: martinn@iwcpmail.co.uk
