Land Rover fans around Hertfordshire have the chance to enter a hunt for vehicles with a story to tell. The company is on a nationwide quest to find a legendary 4x4 to help celebrate Land Rover's 50th anniversary.

The winners need not be the first examples to leave the production line but have to capture the vehicle's brand values, including freedom, adventure and guts, according to competition organisers.

Land Rover is also hoping to find owners who have developed a special bond with their vehicles through shared experiences and adventures.

Dealers are running local competitions until August to find vehicles with inspirational histories. A UK winner will be selected at a final in September.
