YOUR classic car could be a star — thanks to a new Isle of Wight website.
Tony Gibbs has established the free website www.hiremyclassic.co.uk where people can advertise their vintage and classic cars, classic yachts, motorboats and motorbikes for hire.
"I’m a classics enthusiast and run this site for enthusiasts," said Tony.
"This is for owners looking to hire out for weddings, special events, films and TV, product launches, photo-shoots, music videos and PR work."
He said the site’s classic yachts section featured the pilot cutter Amelia Rose, which recently appeared in the TV series The Hungry Sailors.
Tony, who has his own gull-wing Toyota, said that and the Island classic Ford Cortina used in Life on Mars, were prime examples of how extra cash could be earned to fund running costs of classic vehicles.
"Income is generated by a ten per cent fee and website advertising, including that for classic vehicle insurance, which attracts a 15 per cent policy discount through the site," he said.
Tony, 47, from Station Road, Brading, used the skills he developed during an Isle of Wight College graphic design course to put together his own website.
