A MAN who leapt 35 feet from Ryde Pier while the tide was out sparked a major rescue alert last night (Tuesday).
Ryde Inshore Rescue, police and the coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent were called to the scene at 9.27pm after the man was reported as having jumped off the pier after running down Union Street.
Police spoke to the man who was uninjured following the incident.
