A couple who run a busy Borehamwood pub are looking forward to relaxing break in one of the world's most romantic cities after winning a competition.
The landlord and landlady of The Shooting Star pub, Martyn Woolward and Sue Yule, have won a two-day VIP trip to Paris in a contest run by Holsten Pils, with the pub firm InnSpired.
They were awarded the prize for having the biggest increase in sales of Holsten Pils in the InnSpired chain, and The Shooting Star was one of 50 pubs entered in the competition.
Sue, 42, said: "We were really surprised to hear we had won when we got the phone call we thought someone was playing a practical joke on us."
Sue and Martyn, 41, who have been running the pub, in Rossington Avenue for 16 months, are planning to take the holiday in the next few months.
