MULTI-NATIONAL real estate giant RE/MAX has targeted Greenwich to launch an ambitious new project intended to shake up the property market.

The American-based company has just entered the UK residential market with a promise to give both buyers and sellers a fairer deal as well as a much-improved and professional service.

The man behind the proposed shake-up is Canadian Gregory Carros, who is currently advertising for business partners to become owner-managers of the franchise controlled network.

Mr Carros said: "Buying and selling your home needn't be the traumatic experience it often is at present,. It can be so much smoother and more pleasurable for both parties."

However, Mr Carros is determined RE/MAX UK should not be written off as being ``just another franchise".

"It is a system which produces the best because it attracts the best negotiators and creates an atmosphere of synergy for success," he said.

"At every level it is the individual's own business reputation which is on the line and that is a great motivator in terms of personal pride in the work and the financial returns that accrue as a result."

RE/MAX came to Europe in 1995 and already has more than 160 offices established in Germany, Italy and Spain.
