KIDDERMINSTER registered their first win in 11 games against Welling and highlighted the home side's inconsistency.

Wings could not produce any of the inspiration which helped them beat Telford by a similar margin the previous week and it took Harriers just five minutes to open their account.

Arnold continued his uncanny knack of scoring against Welling as he netted from the spot after Paul Copley had given away a penalty.

Welling failed to get any sort of grip on the game and Kidderminster should have had more than a one-goal cushion at the break.

Tony Dolby replaced flu-victim Copley in the second half but the visitors went further ahead on 56 minutes when Willett's cross from the right found Bignall in acres of space at the far post.

He made no mistake with his header and five minutes later substitute Doherty almost made it three when he drifted past two defenders before forcing Glen Knight to parry on to the bar.

Welling introduced Mark Watson and Mark Hynes after the hour but it was Kidderminster who went further ahead on 71 minutes.

Bignall looked suspiciously offside but unmarked as he received a long through-ball and beat Knight with ease.

Farley produced the home side's first real shot with 10 minutes left to play. With high-flying Hednesford the visitors on Saturday, Welling will be looking to erase the memory of this game.

Welling's youth side lost only their second game in 30 on Sunday as they went down 3-0 to Sittingbourne in the quarter-final of the Kent Youth Cup at Park View Road.
