AS revellers prepare to see in the new year tonight (Tuesday) across the Isle of Wight, police have urged drivers not to risk drink driving.

Sgt Dave Sanderson, of the Isle of Wight roads policing unit, said they would be out in force tonight and tomorrow, on the look out for drink drivers.

He warned that many drivers may not be fit to drive tomorrow morning.

"If you are getting in your car tomorrow and asking yourself, am I fit to drive? Then the answer is no.

"You should have no doubt that you are under the limit before you drive.

"It's not worth the risk," he said.
