Power cut in Cowes

HOMES and businesses in Cowes have been left without power this morning (Friday).

Southern Electric said the power went off at around 10.50am following a fault in the network.

It said a repair team was investigating and it was initially believed power was not likely to be restored until this afternoon.

A Southern Electric spokeswoman said some homes had their power restored by 11.15am.

At 12:30pm Southern Electric said properties in the following roads were still without power — Crossfield Avenue, Mountbatten Avenue, Edinburgh Close, Charles Road, Victoria Road, Park Road, Ward Avenue, Princes Street, The Green and Moor Green Road.

At 2.45pm Southern Electric said 87 homes were still without power.

*Power was restored to all homes by 4.20pm.
